James W. Shea
John Shea is a native of “The Big Easy”. When visiting New Orleans you can find John at Mandina’s Restaurant devouring a heaping bowl of their world famous turtle soup!
With extensive and diverse experience in the financial services industry spanning over 23 years, John helps clients understand where they are currently, where they want to end up, and collaboratively works with them to help achieve their goals. John educates clients in a non-threatening consultative manner utilizing a fee-only approach, always placing the client’s interest first.
As a life long learner in the industry, John has obtained numerous industry designations. John obtained his Certified Financial Planner™ certification in 2003. Additional designations from The American College Of Financial Services in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania are as follows: Chartered Financial Consultant® _ ChFC®, Chartered Life Underwriter® - CLU®, Chartered Advisor for Senior Living® - CASL®, Registered Employee Benefits Consultant® - REBC®, Registered Health Underwriter® - RHU®, and Financial Services Certified Professional® - FSCP®.
John holds an MBA and a BA in Communications from the University of New Orleans. John also has obtained the Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow® - LUTCF® from the Life Underwriter Training Council (now called the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors).
John previously headed the advanced case design/financial planning department for one of MetLife’s largest agencies nationally. John also enjoys speaking with groups and individuals about Financial Planning, Retirement Planning, Income Distribution, and Social Security Planning.
John currently lives in Palm Beach, FL, has 9 grand kids and spends much of his free time serving in his local church.
